Automobiles in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a man who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish fluid

Around fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers say they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been placed in the form of a swastika, they reported.

Law enforcement then found multiple other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Police report early analysis suggest the fluid was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; officials are not yet informed of any injuries in association with the incident," they commented.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the residents for information.

A senior representative said the incident made him speechless and needed to be solved quickly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, referring to the death of nine victims by a assailant aiming at residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
