It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have long been mastered.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

In the end, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was much more difficult to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this innings was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a challenging time because it seemed my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was underway.

"A chance to go out there and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was removed her side needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if we do, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.
