AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that challenges conventional forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The storyline features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a clandestine cult.
The mission focuses on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an unique katana together with multiple objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Content
This patch also brings the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series previously showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
